Job Summary:

The Ramp Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ramp operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and training requirements. They will manage the ramp, cabin cleaning, and security operations, supervise employees, and ensure that processes are followed to maintain efficient and safe operations. The Ramp Service Manager reports to the Director of Ground Handling.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the entire ramp operations, including aircraft handling, loading, and unloading of cargo and baggage.

  • Manages and supervises the ramp and cabin employee group, including hiring, training, and performance management.

  • Ensures that all ramp operations are conducted in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Directs and coordinates ramp and cabin cleaning operations to maintain cleanliness and appearance standards.

  • Develops and implements processes and procedures to improve efficiency and safety of ramp operations.

  • Monitors and reports on ramp performance metrics, such as on-time performance, aircraft turn time, and safety incidents.

  • Coordinates with other departments, such as maintenance, customer service, and flight operations, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

  • Responsibilities include mastering the TCP and Deltek timekeeping systems, along with reconciling any exceptions that arise.

  • This role also involves conducting counseling and disciplinary actions, including Corrective Action Forms (CAFs), and providing mentorship and fostering growth among team members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in aviation management or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ramp operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and airline industry standards.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with help.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.

  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

  • The RSA Manager usually works outside and is exposed to all types of weather conditions with a seasonal range of temperatures, including rain, snow, wind, and extreme temperatures.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day. Occasionally, high noise levels where hearing protection is required and provided.
