Salary:Position Grade:Department:Job Type:Examination Number:Location:Incumbents in this position are responsible for interpreting and enforcing the City%26rsquo;s zoning ordinance and performing the Zoning Administrator%26rsquo;s duties in their absence. Duties include conducting site inspections for commercial, residential and industrial sites to ensure compliance with City zoning codes; providing zoning information to the public and all interested parties; researching zoning requests and updating zoning ordinance, maps and database; verifying permit applications and legal descriptions; testifying in violation proceedings; and providing training to coworkers and subordinates and monitoring their performance. ●Schedules, distributes/balances and guides the work assignments of co-workers, according to established work flow/assignment requirements, to assist supervisory staff with timely completion of the assigned work load. ●Monitors and reports on co-worker work performance to determine overall conformity to established timetables and quality standards, and to document and communicate employee production levels and training needs. ●Trains co-workers, as directed, in specific task, job practices and procedures of zoning administration to improve and maintain the performance levels of these employees. ●Performs Zoning Administrator duties in his/her absence. ●Reviews applications for building permits, home occupancy waivers, incidental businesses, sign permits, billboard location plats, day care, and subdivision plats. ●%3Cspan style=%22mso-spacerun: yes; ●%3Cspan style=%22mso-spacerun: yes; ●%3Cspan style=%22mso-spacerun: yes; ●%3Cspan style=%22mso-spacerun: yes; ●Researches zoning requests, maps and other materials. ●Reviews and verifies Assessor plats, property ownership, property history, property subdivisions. ●Verifies street and alley vacations, high hazard occupancy permit applications and legal descriptions. ●%3Cspan style=%22mso-spacerun: yes; ●%3Cspan style=%22mso-spacerun: yes; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ●Data Utilization:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver%27s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver%27s license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request.
