What You Will Do
As the Zoning Inspector I, you will use your knowledge of Carroll County's zoning regulations to perform inspections and conduct investigations. You will use your listening skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. The work you do will help Carroll County Government provide accurate zoning information to citizens, enabling them to make informed decisions.
Essential Duties
Interpret and apply the current regulations of the Carroll County Zoning Ordinance. Perform inspections for zoning violations.
Consult legal counsel to ensure policies, procedures, and practices comply with Federal, State, and local laws.
Compile reports as required by management or government agencies.
Provide information and assistance to County agencies and citizens regarding zoning. Respond to citizen complaints.
Conduct field investigations, follow-up inspections, and procedures through compliance and abatement.
Testify for the Court Judicial system and Board of Zoning Appeals.
Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
