Overview:

The Specialty Shop Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to each customer, while maintaining a specialty shop that meets or exceeds Scheels standards, including meeting sales, inventory, and margin goals.

The Essentials:

  • Meet or exceed personal sales goals while giving Scheels customers a great experience

  • Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise

  • Follow instructions for specific requests from customers, while maintaining safety requirements

  • Analyze reports and make decisions about purchasing of inventory, arrangement of merchandise, and sales trends to meet or exceed Scheels standards

  • Stock shelves, tables, and counters with merchandise while merchandising to Scheels standards.

  • Set up advertising, signs, and merchandise to promote sales

  • Communicate professionally with vendors and/or outside sales representatives

  • Train associates on the proper use and basic knowledge of merchandise

  • Prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings as directed

  • Attend weekly required sales and product knowledge training meetings

  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels' policies and procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to perform basic math; perform operations using units of currency, measurements and understanding percentages.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small groups to customers, clients and other employees.

  • Ability to work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Expert Experience:

High School diploma, or General Education Degree (GED), one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Activity:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9a.m. and 9p.m., Monday through Saturday, 11a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available minimum of three weekends a month. Average hours per week is 40 hours.

The RAM is to generate growth through current channels of distribution, as well as explore and develop additional profitable markets. Much of the time spent will be to grow existing major accounts and identify new business. The primary responsibility for this position will be working "hands on" with dairy operations. These will be supported by our partners, in conjunction with the Field Dairy Specialist team. The goal is that this person will increase sales and margins of current and new customer business by a minimum of 10% every year. The territory is the East Coast. This is a home-based position and can be located anywhere with-in the territory. Our Regional Accounts Manager (RAM) – EB Specialty Will: * Develop and execute plans and prioritized 30-90 day initiatives to routinely exceed annual sales goals. * Identify and routinely meet with key decision-makers and influential sales personnel of major customers and prospects to implement sales plans, including quarterly business reviews, to achieve ongoing market penetration and growth. * Focus sales efforts throughout the MSGAN market to secure business of large dairies. * Partner with the Dairy Technical Specialist to be an additional technical resource to show the company's value-added expertise in nutritional products and programs. * Identify and routinely meet with key dairy technical influencers including independent and feed company nutritionists, dairy veterinarians and other industry manufacturers to develop positive relationships while coordinating closely with the MSGAN Technical Team. * Present MSGAN brands, services and personnel as leaders of the dairy industry. * Lead, coordinate and communicate all pertinent customer and prospect information and activity to MSGAN stakeholders. * Direct and support presentation and promotional materials as appropriate to facilitate product sales. * Communicate to MSGAN Team and Management all competitor activities, new products and industry directions. * Coordinate with the MSGAN Customer Satisfaction Team the timely resolution of all product and service issues. * Perform special projects and other responsibilities as needed. * Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice Position Requirements: * 3+ years of previous sales experience preferred in the feed or dairy industry * Knowledge of dairy nutrition and management practices * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a variety of audiences * Strong working knowledge of PCs * Business development/new business presentation experience * Solid understanding of the sales process * Strong customer focus with the ability to make sound decisions * Motivated, self-starter who can work independently, yet function and participate as part of a team * Exceptional time management skills * Heavy travel with estimated overnights of 50%.
