Description
The Youth Ministry Coordinator is responsible for the development, organization, and administration of parish youth programs. This includes planning and implementing events and programs, developing relationships and outreach with youth and their families, and leading youth into a deeper life of discipleship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinating, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive youth ministry program for Jr. High (Gr 7-8) and High School (Gr 9-12) that includes: catechesis/formation, advocacy for youth and their families, community life, evangelization, justice and service aspects, leadership development, pastoral care and prayer and worship opportunities
Offering Sacramental Preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation and providing for the youth a Confirmation specific weekend retreat
Coordinating the Sunday 5:30 pm Youth Mass, preparing youth to serve as Ushers; Lectors; Altar Servers; Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Confirmed Youth)
Recruiting, training, motivating and evaluating all peer and adult volunteers
Supervising and evaluating all volunteers making sure they have undergone safe environment training
Organizing an annual fundraiser (spaghetti dinner or similar) to help support confirmation and youth programs especially confirmation retreat and Steubenville conference
Attending staff meetings and pastoral council meetings
Other duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications:
Previous experience in Youth ministry;
Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic applicant;
Three or more years' demonstrated relevant experience (with a strong preference for experience in the parish setting)
Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, planning, and budgeting;
Ability and experience to design and implement a variety of youth-oriented programs;
Ability to work with staff, young adults, parents and children of all ages.
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred;
Certification in Youth Ministry or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the parish facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
