Active Recess: Active Recess is structured and organized activities facilitated by adults • Plan and facilitate active recess activities and games during core day and after school recess/breaks and lunch times, focusing on supporting positive student behaviors • Members are assigned a daily game that they facilitate and engage with students.

SEL Mentoring: Mentors will work with students who are struggling emotionally. These students are identified and referred by teachers and school counselors. • Mentoring:

Conduct 90 minutes of SEL Mentoring each week with students 1-to-1, in small groups up to 3. • Plan and lead classroom SEL (Social Emotional Learning) lessons and/or run "lunch bunch" sessions with students needing additional support • Create and lead SEL (Social Emotional Learning) sessions with students 1-to-1 or small group virtually and/or in person. • • Students will work with the Mentor for the duration of the school year. • Mentors will facilitate lessons. These lesson plans are created by the member and / or provided by the teacher. • Mentors will support approximately 20 students throughout the course of the school year. Expanded Learning Support: Expanded Learning programs are often referred to as Afterschool Programs. • Support the after school program daily via the homework help hour. • Members will engage with groups of students to lead physical, SEL (social emotional learning), and enrichment activities. • Members will facilitate the student summer program. • Support the after school program daily via homework help and additional enriching activities. • • Support Classroom Management . • • Co-lead classroom cohorts • • Support the day-to-day programming • • Support students with additional academic support if needed and requested Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.

We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic and independent AmeriCorps Mentor to support the academic and social skills development of high-need students in local area schools. Our program partners with schools to identify students who would benefit from a positive, adult role model that can give targeted academic support as well as mentor students to be their most resilient selves.
