The Salvation Army is hiring! We are seeking individuals with a passion for helping others, and a desire to do the most good in their own community.

The Greater Things After School Program is hiring a part-time Youth Coordinator to plan and implmenent the program's curriculum, following the academic calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination with local Corps Officer to ensure that the program meets Salvation Army mission and activity schedule;

  • Recruitment of volunteers to assist in the program;

  • Promotion of the program in schools and the community;

  • Recruitment of participants;

  • Plan monthly calendar of activities and ensuring that these activities are being carried out;

  • Monitor student participation and progress for program evaluation;

  • Maintain and monitor afterschool snack/meals for participants;

  • Connect and develop positive relationships with parents;

  • Plan quarterly Family Night activities and reach out to parents and grandparents;

  • Collaborate with schools and other community resources;

  • Maintain accurate records concerning attendance, students' progress, and other information;

  • Provide monthly attendance records for Salvation Army statistical report;

  • Provide daily transportation in company vehicle to and from schools and homes;

  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment that supports holistic learning;

  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in all situations and everyone;

  • Attend required in-service training, including child abuse training, CPR, First Aid etc.

  • Uphold all policies of The Salvation Army and uphold the mission as stated in its mission statement

Qualifications

  • Prefer a candidate with a BA degree. Minimum education is Associate's degree or currently in college or have two years of experience working with children in an educational setting such as a church, school, day care center, or after school program.

  • Must be organized, able to work well with others, and support the mission of The Salvation Army.

  • Must have a valid driver's license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.

ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking a detail-oriented Program Specialist to provide a broad range of support services for our Strategic Energy Management (SEM) team and Project Engineering work. The Program Specialist for the Northeast Territory is responsible for driving the work supporting the energy efficiency programs we operate for various utilities. This work includes project tracking, scheduling, invoicing, performing quality control reviews, and drafting summary reports. This position also provides ongoing operational, administrative, and logistical support for our Northeast office, as well as for the planning and facilitation of SEM Cohorts throughout the region. This is a full time, exempt position in our Saratoga Springs, NY office. Occasionally, additional efforts outside of normal working hours may be needed to meet the demands of clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. * Manage the monthly program invoicing process for the team, including budget reconciliation, and identification and resolution of any problems associated with data integrity of invoicing or billing * Use program-specific software programs in support of team tracking, reporting needs, data entry, and file management (including MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, Ajera, HAPD, InfoPath, and Report Builder), to ensure projects are accurate, auditable, and completed within specified timelines * Process program-specific paperwork, such as incentive applications, and confirm accuracy of information by reaching out to customers, vendors, and program staff, as needed * Effectively communicate with program participants in a variety of roles to collect necessary project information * Support program-related training efforts for both internal and external customers. This could include developing PowerPoint presentations, tracking attendance, running web meetings, and supporting development and routing of workshop materials * Perform administrative quality checks of reports, presentations, memos, collateral, and other program-specific documents. Ensure all program requirements plus formatting/branding guidelines are met * Prepare routine reports for both internal and external customers. This may involve running reports from program-specific software, analyzing data for accuracy and completeness, reconciling inconsistencies, reaching out to others for highlights/updates, and inserting exported information into report templates * Support the coordination and planning of meetings, events, webinars, conference calls, etc. Record and publish meeting minutes upon request * Provide overall general administrative support to the program team, including oversight of office management functions, including mail, shipping, equipment, supplies, field instrumentation and equipment utilized by engineering staff, business-related errands, and coordinating team meetings QUALIFICATIONS For this role, we seek candidates with a history of effectively accomplishing tasks using the following competencies.
