Full time employees may be eligible for Public Student Loan Forgiveness at OhioGuidestone and are also offered PAID medical benefits for you and your family!The Youth Care Worker will work in conjunction with our licensed clinical staff, as part of the team responsible to work with our residential clients, male and female, ages 6 to 18.The Youth Care Worker will help to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for emotionally traumatized youth. Successful candidates should be self-starters, positive role models, are good listeners and have outstanding problem solving skills.

Essential Functions:

To supervise clients in his/her charge assuring that a safe and therapeutic environment is maintained for all, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

To handle emergency situations such as environmental, weather related and physical injury and provide crisis intervention in response to behavioral acting out clients according to agency guidelines.

To develop and consistently implement predictable routines for daily functioning, including wake-up, hygiene, meals and bedtime.

In response to treatment needs, plans and organizes Partial Hospitalization activities and educational groups for clients which promote change and growth in areas of social skill building, physical, emotional and mental development.

To present self as a role model for clients and in establishing relationships, maintains professional child care/client boundaries.

To supervise the self-administration of medications as prescribed.

To complete all required paperwork daily and participate and satisfactorily complete all required training, supervision and team meetings including CIR's.

Responsible for planning, implementing client partial hospitalization activities and documentation of daily activities.

If works in CBTC, as directed by the Program Manager or designee, will adhere to the specific Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court contract specifications that outline the requirements for Community Based Treatment Centers as defined by the Ohio Department of Youth Services, the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, and the training specifics required by the University of Cincinnati for CBTC.

Attendance: Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Special Projects: May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.

In times of need, may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor.

Performance/Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a residential cottage and wherever clients go on the surrounding campus and in the community.

  • Ability to physically restrain clients whose ages, heights and weights vary

  • Driver's license with safe driving record in accordance with agency policy

  • English reading and writing skills

  • Interacts verbally with clients, families, co-workers and representatives from outside agencies

  • Attention to detail and confidentiality

  • Ability and willingness to work holidays

  • Team player

  • PAARR training is an essential function of the position and must be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor.

Qualifications:

In accordance with licensing guidelines, all Youth Care Workers must be at least 21 years of age and must have completed high school or its equivalency. A Bachelor's degree in a social service field and experience working with the adolescent population is preferred. Must have a valid driver's licenses with a safe driving record and car Insurance.

The Supervisor of Foster Care will direct supervision on a weekly basis for the Treatment Team Leaders and Foster Care Mentors. The Supervisor of Foster Care will be a reliable resource for the foster care team and ensure that services provided to our clients are quality, necessary services.The individual selected must be flexible, have the ability to communicate effectively in the community on behalf of the agency, have exceptional organizational skills, as well as have strong clinical skills. Essential Functions: * Direct supervision of assigned staff including hiring, supervision and a high emphasis on employee development, ranging from growth within current positions and expanding leadership and supervisory skills necessary to ensure agency success. Demonstrates and models positive leadership, promotes a team based work environment and presents the agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts. * Assures fiscal accountability of all assigned programs and services. This responsibility includes enhancement and maintenance of organizational and cross functional agency processes that impact and are impacted by assigned programming. * Assists in the development of realistic budgets, assisting the Finance Department in assuring that assigned services are adequately documented and that billing requirements are met, working pro-actively to assure budget compliance, and taking immediate action to resolve fiscal problems should they occur. Exhibits and demands care and competence in managing agency resources. * Develops detailed project plans and Logic Models to clearly define and monitor program goals and agency strategic initiatives. Adapts programs and services to enhance this agencies ability to serve the needs of the community. * Ensures the integrity of program and service delivery, compliance and evaluation and moves to adapt programs/services as compliance standards change in an effective and efficient manner. Ensures compliance with internal standards and goals, all contract/grant specifications, as well as licensing, regulatory and accreditation standards including but not limited to ODJFS, ODE, County, Council on Accreditation, EAGLE Accreditation, NAEYC, SUTQ, State/County HMG, Medicaid, ODMH, etc…. Ensures all Local, State, Federal and GAAP laws and regulations. * Assumes a leadership role in the interpretation and support of agency policies (including HR, PR and Communications), implementation of industry best practice standards throughout assigned programs, aiding in the development/implementation of program outcome measures to ensure quality service implementation. * Participates in the mental health assessment, treatment, and intervention plans as necessary. * Provides direct clinical services and assistance in direct service cases when necessary. * Implements program procedures and guidelines. * Evaluates program needs and strengths. * Implement program procedures and supervises staff in the assessment, service planning and delivery of services to youth and families. * Ensures quality, completeness and currency of records, statistics and program/agency forms. * On call by cell phone during non-work hours for clinical consultation and crisis management of direct service workers * Over sees quality assurance of foster client records * Maybe required to attend court hearings and staffings * As a member of the Intake Team, this position assists with placement matches. * Maintains regular and reliable attendance. * May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes. * In times of need, employee may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor.
