The Position: We are looking for a Youth Care Worker, who is willing to embrace McKinleys mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing professional Child Care Services in a culturally sensitive, trauma informed manner while serving as a positive role model in the unaccompanied children's shelter.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range were offering is $20.00- $22.00 hourly depending (Based) on experience.

Qualifications:
Preferred bilingual in Spanish
Highschool Diploma or equivalent degree and a minimum of 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office-related software
Possess superior oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
Detail oriented and organized
Able to work independently and organize multiple projects with minimum supervision
Able to work as a team member
Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professional boundaries with clients and staff
Able represent the agency professionally and appropriately with all constituencies
Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
Ability to drive to various sites on and off campus
Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel
Ability to physically restrain children (if needed)
VACCINATIONS REQUIRED: Be able to show proof of immunization or immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route, including:
Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
Tdap: one Tdap dose.
Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision of unaccompanied children in care, individually and in groups at all times in a manner consistent with their personal rights, to ensure safety within a trauma informed framework.
Work as a part of the treatment team to help unaccompanied children in the development of various skills including social, vocational, educational, hygiene and other skills.
Notation of the unaccompanied childs progress and identifying the possible need for additional services and communicating those findings to the Unit Manager.
Reporting to Unit Managers and/or those designated as Facility Managers of any problems and/or recommendations.
In collaboration with the treatment team develop and implement various activities for the unaccompanied children.
Administer appropriate discipline and limit setting for behaviors.
Utilizing acquired training skills, provide crisis intervention including the use of physical restraints if needed.
Dispense medications as directed when indicated.
Complete all required documentation in a legible, professional, and timely manner.
Successfully complete all required ORR training and attend/participate in required meetings.
Assist in the orientation and training of new Youth Care Workers.
Other duties as assigned.
