Position Summary: The Youth Art Therapy Bereavement Facilitator is responsible for assisting with the development, in collaboration with the Youth Art Therapy Bereavement Group Coordinator, a viable Youth Bereavement Group work program as an integrated element of the Bereavement component of the Hunterdon Hospice organization. #Addresses with children and parents in a support group context, the inter-related psychosocial, emotional, and environmental dynamics which constitute the normal mourning process and grief work following a death in one#s family system.
Facilitates children or parent support group within the program context Maintains documentation associated with group participation Connects families to community resources when appropriate # Work Contact Group Hunterdon Hospice Interdisciplinary Team, Hunterdon Hospice families, Families in the community who have experienced loss and community schools and agencies
Hunterdon Hospice Director Supervises: Staff and Volunteers of the Youth Art Bereavement Group
Minimum Education: Required: Associate#s Degree Certificate and/or Advanced Specialized or Technical Training in Children#s Bereavement Preferred: Bachelor#s Degree Master#s Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Counseling or related field Minimum Years of Experience: Required: Two to three years professional experience preferably with loss/grief issues and /or terminally ill patients Preferred: None License, Registry or Certification: Required: None Preferred: None Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Professional education in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, creative Arts Therapy, or affiliated Masters program. Experience and skill in group work process. Preferred: None
