As an AmeriCorps member, you will be serving with youth from 7-18 years of age. These youth represent many Alaskan Native and other ethnic groups.

The AmeriCorps member will provide individual life skills coaching in the school setting. The AmeriCorps person will re-enforce positive social skills in the classroom and lunchroom. This member will help increase capacity building within our organization.

Member will attend YAS orientation and direct trainings for this service position. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED TASKS: Be a mentor/role model for youth needing individualized help.

Support the classroom curriculum and facilitate academic success. Help facilitate YAS student's participation as participants in school events. Participate in team meetings and staffing for participants.

Participate in all Staff Development and weekly staff meetings. Work cooperatively with Skills Trainer, Clinicians, teachers, families, support staff, and the local community.

Principal Working Relationships: Communicate effectively and daily with several other DSPs as well as two case managers and two on-site clinicians.
