Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is an 86 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Panama City, Florida which provides treatment options to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families, and Veterans. Our specialized multidisciplinary treatment services are provided by highly trained psychiatrists, therapists, addiction counselors, nurses, and activities therapists. Panama City, FL is located on the panhandle of northwest Florida on beautiful St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Emerald Coast Behavioral Health is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS).

The Yoga Instructor leads group yoga classes for assigned patient groups. They design curriculum and lead groups through various levels and types of yoga practice to enhance the spiritual wellness of assigned patient groups.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Design curriculum and lead groups through various levels and types of yoga practice to enhance the spiritual wellness of assigned patient groups.

  • Provides demonstration of techniques, verbal cues and hands-on direction to assist patients with proper poses, alternative poses, the most beneficial breathing patterns, and tips for achieving spiritual wellness.

  • Assure the patient's rights and confidentiality are protected, and acts to prevent, identify, and report abuse to staff immediately.

  • Communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, & cultural issues.

Job Requirements:

  • 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training from a Registered Yoga School through Yoga Alliance

  • Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance

  • 1 year yoga teaching experience required. Experience working in healthcare setting preferred.

  • Liability Insurance required

  • Independent Contractor status

EXPERIENCE: * One year of clinical medical assisting work experience OR possession of an active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification/ABR-OE credentials is required. * Candidates who have graduated from a medical assisting training program within the last 12 months must obtain a clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment if not currently certified. * Candidates with one year of clinical MA work experience who do not possess an active and unrevoked MA certification/ABR-OE credentials must obtain MA certification/ABR-OE credentials within one year of employment.
