This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Camp Lakeside programming staff create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while completing the daily operations of the camp while camp is in session. The Programming Staff for Camp Lakeside performs duties according to all state, federal, and YMCA policies and procedures.

Helps organize and facilitate camper Check-in and Check-out.
Plans and leads programming sessions (Low Ropes, Climbing Wall, Hiking, Biking, Kayaking and Canoeing, Swimming(Lifeguarding), Field Games, Camp Crafts, Fishing, Music, Drama, Dance, Spa, and Leaders in Training for camper groups. (12 to 15 campers)
Helps facilitate meals:Dinning hall prep, serving meals, and meal clean up.
Maintains cleanliness of camp facilities.
Performs all other duties as assigned
Critical Thinking & Decision Making
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Working knowledge of camp programming rules and procedures
Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid
One to three years' related experience and/or training
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Ability to modify programming activities for camper's special needs
Ability to assist campers in an emergency.
