We are currently recruiting for a Yard Lead for our Sacramento, CA branch.

Job Summary

Performs the duties of a Leader to the yard labor force. Plans and implements daily work routines and ensures the safety and welfare of employees under the Yard Foreman's direction.

Essential Functions

• Reviews daily schedule: plans and prioritizes daily work schedule to meet Company requirements.

• Alerts labor force to any special truck loading configuration or customer delivery requirements.

• Checks delivery tickets and other written instructions to meet customer requirements. Personally, check shipments to customers.

• Review daily inventory of equipment in stock against anticipated delivery schedules to minimize the amount of handling to ship equipment.

• Leads yard team in conducting daily safety checks of forklift trucks.

• Givers personal leadership to employees regarding Company policies on safety and health requirements in the yard area.

• Solicits opinions of coworkers on the effectiveness of the yard operations and directs viable recommendations to the Yard Foreman or Branch Manager.

• Share repair work and housekeeping responsibilities for the work area.

• Performs other tasks as directed by the Yard Foreman.

• Responsible for the safety and good health of the warehouse/yard employees. Must maintain a clean and orderly work area which provides a safe working environment for all employees.

Knowledge and Skills

• Must be willing to work hours are required.

• Effective verbal communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to operate a forklift and maintain certification.

• Mechanical aptitude is required.

• Emotional intelligence and a good sense of judgment

• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

• Positive attitude to work.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, or equivalent.

• Minimum of (5) five years' experience in the yard or related work experience.

• Valid Class C CDL issued from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

• OSHA Forklift Certification or ability to acquire preferred.
