Description

This is a driver position responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

This position is responsible for loads of packaging materials in and out of the packaging docks. This person hauls loads of packaging to the additional off-site warehouse. This person will fill in for the plant shuttle driver hauling loads to Green Forest and back.

Requirements

Applicants will be considered for the Shuttle CDL Driver position opening on 2nd shift. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing pulling and reaching are required.

This position works out of doors in extreme heat and or cold conditions and also requires driving during inclement weather Position holder must have and maintain a valid Class A, Commercial Driver s License. Must be able to maintain Operational records and must report any safety concerns to Supervisor. Must maintain DOT records daily.

Must maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations. Must be able to lift +40 pounds. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Perform high quality and detailed tasks ensuring high first pass yield and efficiency. Essential Functions % of Time * Primary function is to provide direction, support and guidance to production employees. * Assist with addressing problems, answering questions, seeking engineering and operations support, and communicating daily and weekly production goals and expectations. * First line of contact for production to seek support and guidance for building cable harness assemblies and performing production process operations such as braiding or potting. * Subject matter expert in cable assembly or cable processes including braiding and potting * Read and interpret work instructions and process procedures. * Read and understand blueprints and drawings * Perform basic cable assembly process steps including such tasks as wire prep, wire stripping, routing, clean-up and close out. * Perform cable assembly process steps involving crimping, shield termination, wire insert, ID prep and marking. * Perform cable assembly process steps involving hand solder (basic / complex); complex close-out; complex routing / lay-up. * Perform process operations including wire kitting (manual cut, machine cut, kit wires); complex wire kitting tasks (Printing IDs, machine cut – Laselec, Stencil machine); simple braiding (straight run cables) or potting applications (Cold, metal, silicon, non-molded, and sealants). * Meets all requirements as needed for cable assembly or process operations including all required tasks, certification, process procedures and other knowledge, skills and abilities required for the Cable Assembler I, II, and III positions or Sr. Process Operator. * Build quality into the product – increase first pass yield, minimize rework and minimize scrap. * Work safely and responsibly; use appropriate PPE and seek assistance as needed. 65% * Support process improvements and participate in actively providing solutions. * May provide OJT (On-the-Job Training) as required to support development of cable assemblers and process operators. * Professional and credible resource for new hires for questions and support to assist in the new hire assimilation into the workforce 20% * Work overtime and support production schedules as required. * Seek ways to improve skills and capabilities. Attend training sessions and obtain require certifications. 10% * Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area. * Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees 5% Additional Skills & Qualifications: * Must be a US Person for ITAR regulated facilities. * Must be 18 years of age. * Must have a High School diploma or GED. * Prefer prior experience in manufacturing environment; prefer hand assembly experience. * Embrace and promote work behaviors that align with the company core values of honesty, professionalism, respect, trust and teamwork. * Ability to work and promote safety of oneself and other coworkers.
