Job Role Summary
Senior Landman position with strong emphasis on Acquisitions and Divestitures.
Job Role Responsibilities
Handle land related responsibilities in Acquisitions and Divestitures with supervision from a Division Landman or Regional Land Manager.
Manage brokers for title research and due diligence, obtain Title Opinions and cure defects.
Assist with preparation of all necessary documents to transfer title and close complex oil and gas transactions.
Assist with negotiating various agreements governing oil and gas transactions (Purchase and Sale Agreements, Exchange Agreements, etc.) with other companies.
Prepare all necessary regulatory filings handled by the land department.
Prepare all necessary internal paper work in a timely manner.
Job will include travel to oversee due diligence, attend closings, and as needed for meetings with representatives from other companies.
Expected Level of Proficiency
Upstream oil and gas knowledge and a minimum of 3 years of in-house Landman experience
Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management or related field, Law Degree, or Master of Business Administration
Excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills
Project management skills; ability to deliver results in a performance driven and team-oriented environment
Ability to work with other departments within XTO and ExxonMobil and work with counterparts in other companies
Strong negotiation skills
Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills
Strong critical thinking skills; ability to exercise business judgment/make sound decisions
Detail oriented and capable of producing results in time constrained situations
Adaptable to changing business needs and requests
Acquisitions and divestitures experience
Surface fee / easements / ROW acquisition experience
Damage claim settlement experience
Experience with GIS and Land Systems (Quorum preferred)
