PCC Airfoils, LLC, headquartered in Greater Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the fast-paced, high-tech industry of investment casting. Each of the sixteen (16) Airfoils' locations play an integral part in the manufacture of blades, vanes and components for use in gas turbine engines. The Airfoils Division is a wholly owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corp. and was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in February 2016. The SMP Operations segment of PCC Airfoils consists of two manufacturing locations - Wickliffe and Eastlake, Ohio. SMP manufactures investment castings utilizing proprietary technology for use in aerospace and industrial gas turbine engines. Products and systems manufactured in these operations must meet extremely close tolerance limits and adhere to customer specifications. The operations are expanding due to sales volume increase and this provides unique opportunities for career growth and development:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assure parts are properly processed to the applicable NDT method specifications.

  • Read and interpret indications with reference to applicable Quality Engineering Instructions. (QEI)

  • Perform daily system checks.

  • Perform set up and calibration of equipment.

  • Organize, report, and maintain records of x-ray inspection results.

  • Move parts to proper department after x-ray inspection is complete.

  • Work in other Quality departments when required by supervisor.

  • Ability to work flexible hours (all shifts when necessary) and overtime when required for shipment purposes.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Keep work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe working condition.

  • Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • X-Ray Reader Level I Certification preferred.

  • High School graduate.

  • Must be well-organized and able to self-direct daily activities.

  • Must be able to pass yearly eye exam.

  • Demonstrate proficiency of applicable procedure instructions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Meet or exceed defined Visual Acuity (when required).

  • Meet color perception standards needed in performance of job requirement (when required).

  • Additional training to comply with applicable SOP/Certifications (when required).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).

Job Summary:   This position will report to the Wickliffe Engineering Services Manager and will be responsible for mechanical, automation and process-related projects throughout the site with goals to improve productivity, capability and safety.  This person will be responsible to help implement the capital plan of the areas that he/she is assigned to support.  Supporting other Project Engineers, Testing Engineers, area Process Engineers and the Facilities maintenance group is required. Other duties include:   Responsibilities: * Participate on project teams to prepare and submit requests for capital including detailed scopes, cost estimates and all other required documents * Perform detailed engineering and/or project management as required to meet the technical and budget needs of assigned projects. * Project management work includes preparation of schedules, setting up projects in SAP, preparing purchase requisitions, and periodic reports * Oversee Drawings, making process calculations to size required equipment, prepare equipment specifications for quotes, make equipment selections for purchase * Coordinate installation with maintenance resources and supervise contractors to install process equipment and systems * Acts as the project leader for a moderate project workload, with responsibility for meeting the technical objectives of the project within the assigned budget, project reporting, and project closure * Provide technical assistance to the operating and maintenance areas assigned as requested * Maintains a working knowledge of the codes and standards that apply to engineering discipline, including the National Electric Code, OSHA standards, NFPA Codes, and Ohio Building and Mechanical Code   Skills, Experience, and Qualifications * B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering * Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience designing and specifying mechanical, automation, and/or process equipment * Project management experience, with an established track record of successful projects.  Project management experience must be in engineering or construction. * Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical processes; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions Considered a Plus * Reliability Engineering with experience with Condition Monitoring * Building Automation systems integration * Distributed Control Systems experience such as Delta V   Working Conditions * Lifting to head up to 10 pounds; lifting to waist up to 25 pounds * Requires close, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception * Work is performed within a controlled environment; noise levels in some areas require hearing protection     Lubrizol Benefits Click Here to Learn About all of Our Benefits!
