The Procurement Supervisor is responsible to develop and lead our procurement strategies to support sustainment and continued growth into the foreseeable future. The Procurement Supervisor will lead daily management of Planning, Procurement, and Vendor Management for the XOS Supply Chain. The Supervisor will have access to the Veralto Materials System (VMS) to drive continuous improvements in the business while providing developmental growth.

The Procurement Supervisor will have 50% duties providing direct value stream procurement coverage. The remaining 50% will relate to team leadership and Data analytics to support material planning tools to drive inventory and raw material purchase goals.

This position is part of the Operations team located in East Greenbush, NY and will be on-site.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Directing and coordinating the material planning process, supporting demand planning, material Control Change, and new product development while meeting inventory turns targets for inventory control.

  • Identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize raw material supply plans including Days on Hand inventory, Obsolete materials, and Inventory.

  • Growing and developing a high-performance team with robust development plans and performance management tools

  • Inspiring their team by communicating a clear vision and motivating employees to work toward common goals. Helping to foster a sense of purpose and commitment to the business.

  • Driving cost savings through negotiations with existing suppliers and finding new vendors and developing 3 years savings funnel/pipeline.

  • Owning vendor qualification and scorecard process to mitigate supplier risk.

  • Optimizing a material pull system maximizing Kanban purchasing programs for A & B items and balancing MRP where a Kanban pull system is not achievable.

  • Developing the PFEP (Plan For Every Part) and maintain its integrity within a Pull System.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated customer focus and strong interpersonal and communications skills. Viewed by others as a change agent.

  • Self-driven, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult and/or ambiguous situations.

  • Strong facilitation and teaching skills. Can collaborate with and effectively influence and coach all levels of the organization.

  • Practitioner experience applying lean principles in a variety of situations in functions/areas supporting Procurement, Planning, and Manufacturing.

  • Ability to assess key business metrics and situations from a senior leader's point of view.

Are you qualified?

  • Candidate must be able to provide data analytics to holistically manage $4-5M of inventory which includes ~5k active SKUs.

  • Ability to generate material simulations to support material planning.

  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with continually increasing levels of responsibility and previous experience in a materials leadership role. Understanding and training on ERP systems particularly Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Demand Planning, and Inventory Management.

  • Consistent track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.

  • Strong computer/software skills and experience working with ERP Systems (Epicor preferred)

  • Ability to demonstrate effective coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

It would be great if you had:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations / Supply chain management, Engineering, or Business Management or equivalent career experience that demonstrates success in similar role.

  • APICS or ISM certification desired, or equivalent experience

  • Lean/Six Sigma Experience

  • Interpersonal skills and communication proficiency

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - 90,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This range may be modified in the future.
