DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION Perform a wide variety of technical procedures, requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. Requires initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis. May be assigned independent responsibilities by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager. # Proper care of the client in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures is required. May be responsible for assigned areas to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist. # Practices infection control and body substance isolation in clinical practice in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrates proper operation of PACS, HIS and RIS computer systems. Demonstrates ability to operate and trouble shoot CR, DR and PACs applications. Attends annual mandatory education to include blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation. Maintains department competencies as required POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) Experience: 2 years as a diagnostic technologist, 1 year as a mammography technologist Education and Training: Must have completed formal ACR approved Radiologic Technology program for radiology and mammography License, Certification
ARRT(RTR) - Registered Technologist Radiography. ARRT(M) - Mammography CPR is required. MALIC(R)(M) - Mass License in Radiography and Mammography Other Requirements: Must have excellent patient care skills. Must be current with all continuing education for both radiology and mammography
