Healing made personal. Roles & Responsibilities: Performs radiographic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with Radiology and Departmental protocols; including assignments to interventional procedures, operating room, cystoscopy and portables as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists, prepares and positions patients as required to perform radiological procedures Evaluates radiographs for technical acceptability Employs radiation protection measures and follows departmental protocols to keep exposure of patients and hospital personnel to a minimum Demonstrates evidence of collimating on all films Demonstrates radiographically visible evidence of shielding in all instances where appropriate, especially pediatrics Performs preparation of parental contrast medica and accessories required to assist the physician in performing procedures Maintains x-ray equipment in good working condition and cleanliness Reports all equipment problems to supervisor Processes radiographs and loads automated film handling equipment as required to complete the exam Supervises Radiology technology students Maintains supplies and accessories in radiographic room necessary to safely perform duties Leaves x-ray room in an orderly fashion(ready for the next patient) Obtains/utilizes supplies necessary to meet job standards Performs computed tomography procedures as trained Assists in special radiographic procedures as trained Schedules exams into DECRAD (Radiology Information System) as required Performs quality control tasks on film development equipment (sensitometry); records pertinent data as required Accurately records all required patient tracking information into DECRAD Requirements: Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program Six months to one year relevant work experience in a health care setting Strength Through Diversity The Mount Sinai Health System believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are key drivers for excellence. Roles &amp; Responsibilities: Obtains and verifies patients' insurance benefit information from insurance companies or private payers regarding coverage for services. <br><br> Obtains all necessary payer authorizations and acquires all required referrals for services to be provided. Negotiates modifies rates with carriers. Communicates and inform patients of any potential patient out-of-pocket liability, and works out payment plans as necessary. <br><br> May provides resources to bridge the gap between insurance coverage and patients' liability if necessary. Assists patients with questions or problems regarding insurance coverage and other financial matters. Assists in the resolution of any patient billing issues. <br><br> Maintains and completes all insurance assessment forms and agreements and ensures they are accurate for claims processing. Requirements: Associate's degree in related field; Bachelor's preferred, or combination of relevant experience and education.
