Responsibilities

The Journeys and Adventures that Await

• Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of specific areas of body requested by physician

• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation

• Moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance

• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff

• Obtain patient's pertinent history

• Maintains crash cart

• Maintain and stock inventory

• Maintain OSHA regulations

• Performs Dexa scans where trained

• Performs other projects and duties as related to department objective

• Must be able to get along with others, to be a team player, to accept constructive criticism from your supervisor and be able to follow work rules

• Report to lead technologist for work assignments

• Will assist with film quality control. Required to work evening and holidays with responsibility for the operation of the department

• Assists and relieve manager expediting the patient work flow through the department

Qualifications

The Experiences You Bring

• A minimum of an associate's degree in Radiology is required from an accredited institution.

• Must be ARRT registered or eligible to sit for the ARRT certification exam.

• Must be licensed with the State of Illinois in X-ray to perform X-ray procedures.

• CPR certification.

• 6 months to 2 years related experience preferred.
