What You'll Do:

  • Performs radiographic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with Radiology protocols

  • Performs routine radiographic procedures on patients following departmental protocols; including assignments to interventional procedures, operating room, cystoscopy and portables as needed

  • Assists, prepares and positions patients as required to perform radiological procedures

  • Evaluates radiographs for technical acceptability

  • Employs radiation protection measures and follows departmental protocols to keep exposure of patients and hospital personnel to a minimum

  • Demonstrates evidence of collimation on all images

  • Demonstrates radiographically visible evidence of shielding in all instances where appropriate, especially pediatrics

  • Performs preparation of parental contrast media and accessories required to assist the physician in performing procedures

  • Maintains x-ray equipment in good working condition and cleanliness, reports all equipment problems to supervisor

  • Processes radiographs or images and loads automated film handling equipment as required to complete the exam

  • Supervises Radiology technology students

  • Maintains supplies and accessories in radiographic room necessary to safely perform duties

  • Leaves x-ray room in a orderly fashion (ready for the next patient)

  • Obtains/utilizes supplies necessary to meet job standards

  • Schedules exams into DECRAD (Radiology Information System) as required

  • Performs quality control tasks on film developing equipment (sensitometry); records pertinent data as required

  • Accurately records all required patient tracking into IDX

What You'll Bring:

  • High School graduate or equivalent education.

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic technology.

  • New York State license in Diagnostic Radiology, ARRT certification.

Roles & Responsibilities: The Senior Scientist provides scientific and technical leadership in the management, design and execution of a clinical research program. With a broad range of skills and experience, this individual is a critical component of the Principle Investigator's laboratory, demonstrating a capacity for collaboration and innovation with consistently high productivity. * Designs and conducts complex clinical research studies requiring the determination and evaluation of alternative methods, diagnosis and treatment. * Analyzes and interprets clinical data from research studies. * Explores subject area and defines scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies. * Develops hypotheses to be tested and methodology for evaluating results. * Communicates research results to the scientific community via published papers. * Coordinates seminars and discussions for dissemination of knowledge and results of research in order to develop new diagnosis or treatment. * Develops new proposals for research and obtain support for new and/ or continuing research activities. * Makes decisions and recommendations that have a major impact on extensive scientific research activities. * May supervise graduate/ medical students and trainees. * Performs other related duties. Requirements: * Ph.D in sciences or related field * Minimum five years of experience with scientific investigation. * Must have demonstrated outstanding achievement in a field of research * Must have contributed to a number of peer-reviewed publications, inventions or the like, at least some of which have had a major impact on advancing the field or discipline. * Prior experience successfully securing external grant funding is highly desirable.
