The VISTA Outreach Coordinator is a full time, 12 month position. The VISTA will create and support a volunteer recruitment program.

The program will educate the public on the need for the CASA program and how individuals in the community can support the program.

This will include the need for volunteers as well as the opportunity to support the CASA volunteers through annual giving. CASA Stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Judges appoint CASA volunteers to represent the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. The CASA volunteers make sure that the child does not get lost in the legal and social service system, or languish in a foster home.

The same volunteer stays on the case until the child is placed in a safe permanent home.

The local CASA organization serves Harvey and McPherson Counties. The CASA office is located in Newton, Kansas which is just north of Wichita. VISTAs can choose to live in a thriving small community in or around Newton, or they can live in the larger city nearby.
