The Harvard Innovation Labs is a unique collaboration and education space designed to foster entrepreneurship and innovation across Harvard University.
The Harvard Innovation Labs writer and copyeditor will work as part of the marketing team to create brilliant content for all events and promotional materials, website content, blog posts and student and alumni interviews, and some speeches.
The goal of this role is to create a consistent voice across all written materials and to increase the amount of content produced.
What youll do in this job:
Write brilliant promotional materials.
The Harvard Innovation Labs produces a myriad of promotional collateral that is in constant need of adapted content.
You will be responsible for creating the content and shaping it to whatever form (long, short, formal, informal, etc.) is needed for each particular situation.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that the tone and voice are on brand.
Write brilliant content for events.
The Harvard Innovation Labs puts on several large-scale events every year that require content, including event description, personalized invites to high-profile guests, and other content as necessary.
Your responsibility will be to make sure that each event is properly described in the right tone and voice to suit, not only the event, but the Harvard Innovation Labs brand standards.
Manage website content.
There is a lot of content describing what we do and who we serve on the website.
It will be your responsibility to ensure that all language on our website is clear, accurate, and consistent across the site and with our brand.
Oversee blog posts.
We have hundreds of teams doing really great work as part of our community.
Every session, we write stories about some of these teams: what theyre working on, how they got where they are, how the Innovation Labs is helping them reach their goals.
You will be responsible for setting up interviews with these teams and writing about their stories.
There may also be an opportunity to turn these into podcasts.
On occasion, our Executive Director makes speeches that she needs assistance putting together.
You will be responsible for internalizing what she wants to say and configuring it appropriately for the particular events tone and needs.
You will work in conjunction with the marketing team to accurately portray the look, feel, and voice of the Innovation Labs through all written content.
You will also attend weekly marketing meetings where you will contribute to strategic brainstorming and project creation.

Hours: We are looking for someone who can work 25 hours a week and can attend the weekly marketing meetings.
This is a contractor position so benefits are not offered.
