SUMMARY

At iDE, we are catalyzing a movement to fight poverty across the globe. We have powered over 38 million entrepreneurs to end poverty and realize prosperity on their own terms.

We are an unconventional, progressive nonprofit organization that believes in the power of entrepreneurship to solve the world's most pressing problems. We look for innovative ways to leverage our market-based approach and transform the lives of millions of people to create lasting and meaningful change.

The Fund Development team is hiring a Lead Writer to maximize our engagement with donors and secure grant funding through effective communication and high-quality written proposals.

As the Fund Development Lead Writer your work will be critical in delivering the organization's $15 million fundraising target. You will make a direct contribution to iDE's vision for long-term prosperity and health in rural communities around the world.

You will have the opportunity to engage with teams across iDE's global portfolio, enabling you to successfully communicate our funding priorities, strategic goals, and vision for change. You will be able to quickly master complex subject matter, find insights in technical documents and through interviews, and craft creative narratives that help others understand why iDE's work is relevant and worth their time and financial support.

Where possible, we encourage our team to travel and see first-hand the impact iDE is making in partnership with entrepreneurs - so you should have a passion for learning about other cultures and the challenges faced by the people for whom we work.

Your work will cut across communications for fundraising campaigns, as well as proposal writing catered to corporate and foundation donors. You are therefore the kind of person who can be creative one day and analytical the next - and know when you need to be both at once!

If you have the writing, organizational talent, and the passion we need, you may be the person we are searching for. Go here to submit your resume and a brief cover letter. We want to know why we need you on our team and why a challenge of this nature excites you - inspire us by describing why this is just the opportunity you are looking for.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Develops content for ad hoc corporate partnership campaigns, working with iDE Comms to ensure effective integration with our broader social media and public appeals plans.

  • In coordination with the FD and BD team, provide oversight and coordination of foundation grant applications and corporate proposal drafting, developing effective and concise written responses that address the opportunity, while effectively communicating the technical capability and track record of iDE.
