Responsibilities:

  • Convert completed multiple electronic files to final format.
  • Review work in progress, gather input, and reconcile conflicting comments.
  • Organize configuration of text and art.
  • Write, edit, and proofread technical, proposal and promotional text and artwork.
  • Identify and apply applicable standards to documentation.
  • Conduct reviews with customers and coordinates projects to successful conclusion.
  • Provide evidence of compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • On-Call position to help us manage surge requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Technical Writing, Microsoft Word, and publication standards required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years related work experience, a Masters degree and typically 1 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

VIEW JOBS 11/1/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-30T00:00 Writes proposals in response to specific RFI, RFQ and RFP guidance, focusing on the assembly/development of management, technical, and cost volumes including attachments, appendices, etc. Ensures compliant, compelling and accurate responses to the program requirements. The function may also require analysis of concepts, gathering and determining the appropriate use of information, the writing of drafts and the securing of approvals for non-recurring type of engineering and manufacturing approaches. Expertise in complex military weapons systems a plus. Experience in military and commercial systems an added plus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Studies Request for Proposals (RFPs); attend strategy meetings. * Edit proposal sections for grammar, style, consistency and correctness. * Improve readability and clarity of text by using active voice and concise language, eliminating run-ons and minimizing jargon. * Minimize style differences from multiple authors and contributors. * Align summaries, introductions, informative subheadings, theme statements, action captions, and graphics with the proposal strategy. * Ensure proper contextual integrity of each completed proposal section by reviewing edits with respective SME/contributor. * Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; * Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials. * Follows proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone. * Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with key providers and project managers. * Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. * Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. * Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None Qualifications SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint )and adobe * Advanced grammar, editing, proofreading, composition skills and exceptional attention to detail; proven technical and persuasive writing skills * Presentation, graphic design, technical documentation and layout skills * Problem-solving, deadline-oriented * Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills * Strong organizational skills * Excellent interpersonal skills * Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms * Process improvement, coordination, strategic planning skills * Work independently without requiring detailed management review of general work * Able to work evenings and weekends as proposal schedule requires * Maintains a "customer service" attitude in delivering products to internal and external customers * The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team * The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate is required * Access to Export Control Information * Regular attendance at the worksite * Must be familiar with RFP, RFI and RFQ formats * Experience in addressing RFP volumes and formatting EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Technical Writing, Creative Writing, English or related field from a four-year College or University and 4-6 years of work related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Experience working in the aerospace and/or government contracting industry. * Minimum four (4) years of professional writing experience a plus.
