We have a rare opportunity for a WPB MRO Quality Engineer in our GTF Module Center at our West Palm Beach, FL facility.
Pratt & Whitney WPB MRO is a repair and overhaul organization for the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine and Auxiliary Power Units.
The critical role of the GTF Quality Engineer provides quality support functions in accordance with CFR Part 145 Repair Station regulations supporting Geared Turbofan module overhauls.
You will work with Engineering and Operations to ensure procedures and processes are in accordance with approved data.
Build and maintain quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action for process related concerns.
Perform and follow up on internal and external quality system audits assuring conformance to FAA regulations, ISO standards, user documentation, company procedures, and customer specifications as applicable.
Close out audit findings, crafting audits, finding reports and figure out proper corrective and preventive actions.
Perform repair reviews to determine shop capability and cost analysis.
Assist shop operations and engineering personnel in resolving root cause and implement corrective actions for customer escapes and audit findings.
Analyze failure, corrective action and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
Lead and conduct improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
Demonstrate a dedication to the EH&S Program, including compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, and maintenance of a safe workplace.
Perform technical writing to ensure that procedures related to quality are established, maintained, and supported according ISO requirements and Pratt & Whitney global quality policies.
Ensure that methods and the equipment used in the various tests are reliable, accurate, and dependable.
Report monthly Quality measurements to Senior Management including discussion relative to the requirements and Unit strategy.
You have prior Part 145 Repair Station experience.
You are a US Citizen due to government contracts.
A minimum of 4 years of Quality Engineering experience is required.
A minimum of 3 years of auditing skills, both internal and external is also a requirement.
4 years of directly related experience in the Aerospace industry and/or Overhaul & Repair unit
Required also is 4 years of the following:
Understanding of industry certifying bodies and procedures (ISO 9001, AS9110).
Navigating procedures and regulations such as CFR Title 14 .
Strong business discernment and proven leadership skills.
Master's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline w/3+ years of experience
Additionally, certifications as ASQC Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Lead Auditor are desired.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and social skills with all levels of the organization -
Critical competencies: Communication, Problem Solving, Documentation skills, Accountability and Responsibility, Self-Motivated, Strong Organizational Skills is a huge plus.
