We have a rare opportunity for a WPB MRO Quality Engineer in our GTF Module Center at our West Palm Beach, FL facility.

Pratt & Whitney WPB MRO is a repair and overhaul organization for the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine and Auxiliary Power Units.

The critical role of the GTF Quality Engineer provides quality support functions in accordance with CFR Part 145 Repair Station regulations supporting Geared Turbofan module overhauls.

Responsibilities /Accountabilities:

  • You will work with Engineering and Operations to ensure procedures and processes are in accordance with approved data.

  • Build and maintain quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action for process related concerns.

  • Perform and follow up on internal and external quality system audits assuring conformance to FAA regulations, ISO standards, user documentation, company procedures, and customer specifications as applicable.

  • Close out audit findings, crafting audits, finding reports and figure out proper corrective and preventive actions.

  • Perform repair reviews to determine shop capability and cost analysis.

  • Assist shop operations and engineering personnel in resolving root cause and implement corrective actions for customer escapes and audit findings.

  • Analyze failure, corrective action and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.

  • Lead and conduct improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.

  • Demonstrate a dedication to the EH&S Program, including compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, and maintenance of a safe workplace.

  • Perform technical writing to ensure that procedures related to quality are established, maintained, and supported according ISO requirements and Pratt & Whitney global quality policies.

  • Ensure that methods and the equipment used in the various tests are reliable, accurate, and dependable.

  • Report monthly Quality measurements to Senior Management including discussion relative to the requirements and Unit strategy.

  • You have prior Part 145 Repair Station experience.

  • You are a US Citizen due to government contracts.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of Quality Engineering experience is required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of auditing skills, both internal and external is also a requirement.

  • 4 years of directly related experience in the Aerospace industry and/or Overhaul & Repair unit

  • Required also is 4 years of the following:

  • Understanding of industry certifying bodies and procedures (ISO 9001, AS9110).

  • Navigating procedures and regulations such as CFR Title 14 .

  • Strong business discernment and proven leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline w/3+ years of experience

  • Additionally, certifications as ASQC Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Lead Auditor are desired.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication and social skills with all levels of the organization -

  • Critical competencies: Communication, Problem Solving, Documentation skills, Accountability and Responsibility, Self-Motivated, Strong Organizational Skills is a huge plus.

This role will provide Process/Production Engineering support to operational activities as engines progress through the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) process to meet external and internal customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery. Responsibilities / Accountabilities: * Develop and own process plans incorporating technical data revisions and deviations as required. * Take lead role in driving process improvements. * Participate in investigations of process turn-backs and escapes, Customer inquiries, etc. * Provide the support necessary to complete the investigations in the management declared time table. * Generate In Process Findings and submit EagleNet wires for resolution. * Identify tooling issues, develop recommended strategy for resolution and provide recommendations for tooling purchases. * Notify the appropriate organization for technical requirements or purchasing activities. * Own tooling equivalency process. * Align with all government regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, repair station procedures and work instructions including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and International Trade Compliance requirements. * Support Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) activities as required. * Customer Focus, Drive for Results, Technical Skills, Social Savvy, Dedication to Continuous Improvement, Effective Teamwork. Education: Bachelors' degree in an Engineering field is required. Qualifications:Basic Qualifications: * Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in gas turbine MRO activities * Minimum of 4 years of interpreting engine technical manuals, tooling and engine drawings and non-complex electrical wiring schematics.
