About the Role

The Worldwide Solutions Director (Practice Lead), Application Modernization and Connectivity will shape and drive strategy work for the implementation of AMC technologies our global clients, in particular those in the financial services sectors in North America. Working at the very highest levels of IT management and other partners, the role is focused on promoting digital transformation through the delivery of business application modernization strategies across client application portfolios. By extension this role will extend across all Micro Focus solutions applicable to the modernization journeys developed for clients. for details about the Micro Focus AMC portfolio.

The Worldwide Solutions Director (Practice Lead), Application Modernization and Connectivity will be responsible for:

Client Delivery and Development:

  • Developing trust-based relationships with senior clients

  • Shaping and leading business strategy and transformation engagements

  • Developing compelling responses to new business opportunities

  • Building and managing strong client and Micro Focus teams

  • Assessing and managing risks and issues and making adjustments as needed

  • Ensuring business outcomes are achieved

Practice Building:

  • Developing expertise in specific practice specialty areas to increase the breadth and depth of our knowledge base and capabilities

  • Elevating our brand and presence in the marketplace (e.g. conference participation, thought leadership, offering development, recruiting)

  • Providing coaching and mentoring to analysts, consultants, and managers

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Banking, Insurance or Financial Services industry sectors

  • Minimum of 3 years of strategy consulting experience at a consulting firm

  • Experience of mainframe application strategies and delivery

  • BA or BS degree; MBA degree preferred

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Desire to work in an information systems environment

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent leadership and management skills

  • Ability to work in North America without visa restrictions

  • Interested in 60% travel

Essential duties and responsibilities: * Responsible for successfully coordinating all details involved with the purchasing, scheduling and delivery of materials required for modernization jobs so that the jobs are completed in a timely, productive and cost efficient manner * Sets up new modernization jobs and change orders, and submits for processing * Sets up job submittal books for submittal to building owner and consultant * Maintains job file to include data pertaining to the job; maintains computer database, recording all activity that applies to the job, including current job status and all correspondence and future actions required; closes job file after final acceptance * Issues purchase orders and files into job books * Follows up with customers on job schedules, and scope of work issues pertinent to modernization projects to ensure consistent workflow on projects * Coordinates issuance of letters of intent, city permits and plan checks, and DSA and OSHPD approvals; Reviews and prioritizes OSHPD jobs.
