Our growing Finance team is looking for an experienced, strategic and hands-on Worldwide Senior Director of Revenue Operations to build out and run our global revenue function. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference at the ground level of a global, pre-IPO, tech company. Reporting to the Company's Corporate Controller and based at ThoughtSpot's global headquarters in Palo Alto, California, this newly-created position will play a critical role supporting the Company's continued track record of strong revenue growth and driving a scalable and efficient operation.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the software industry and strong revenue acumen. The Worldwide Director of Revenue Operations will be the subject matter expert and Company lead on global revenue accounting topics including the implementation of ASC 606 and supporting processes, systems and strong financial controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead and implement the Company's adoption of ASC 606. Must have expert knowledge of software revenue recognition accounting rules under ASC 985, ASC 605 and ASC 606.

  • Build strong working relationship with auditors to ensure revenue accounting issues are consistent and compliant with ASC 606.

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the company's revenue recognition policy.

  • Proactively collaborate with Sales, Legal and Deal Desk to facilitate customer contract review, analysis and deal structure.

  • Build out global revenue function including shared services team in Bangalore, India.

  • Manage revenue Month-End activities including preparation, review and reconciliation of revenue and deferred revenue schedules and journal entries

  • Perform SSP calculations and analysis

  • Implement best practice policies, procedures, and processes in the Revenue function to prepare the Company to adopt ASC 606 and to go public, including system implementations and SOX readiness

  • Work closely with FP&A to continuously develop and refine process around revenue forecasting

  • Provide guidance/training to groups outside of revenue function to ensure alignment and understanding of revenue-recognition implications of customer contracts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.

  • 10+ years of progressive revenue recognition experience (including implementation of ASC 606).

  • Certified Public Accountant license/certification

  • In addition to degree and certification, must have at least 10 years experience gained in a BIG 4 public accounting firm and/or Revenue Accounting function for a multi-national public or a large private company.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization and across functions.

  • A proven leader in training and developing high-performing teams

  • Excellent time and project management skills can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a high-paced business culture.

  • NetSuite, Salesforce and revenue automation experience a plus
