World Language Teacher (position is .48 - 1.0)

2024-2025 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

• MA licensure as a World Language Teacher 5-12 (Language(s): French & Spanish).

• Experience teaching French & Spanish Levels 1 through 4, at the middle/secondary school level.

• Demonstrated experience in successfully motivating students of varying ability levels, skills and achievements.

• Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain daily and long-range plans consistent with the established curriculum and the goals of the system.

• Follow the department curriculum to provide activities, which stimulate growth in listening reading, speaking and writing the language.

• Provide instruction and learning activities which take into consideration the individual differences of children.

• Exercise appropriate classroom control to help children grow in the ability to be self-disciplined and accept reasonable control.

• Provide a system for communicating with students, parents, counselor and administrators regarding student's progress.

• Evaluate student progress and classroom activities on a daily and long-range basis.

• Attend meetings of department as called, serve on committees for curriculum revision and for the general operation of the school.

• Continue professional growth by attending meetings, seminars, course and other professional activities.

• Cooperate with staff and principal in extracurricular activities.

• Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal and/or Department Head.

REPORTS TO: Department Head, Building Principal

SALARY: In accordance with FEA Unit A Contract
