This position is for an electrical hardware engineer with proven design knowledge to solve complex technical issues. This position is in the Workstation Business Unit and the selected candidate will be part of an R&D HW team responsible for designing and providing technical leadership for Workstation platforms and components.
This role will support electrical motherboard and component design including digital, embedded power, and power supplies for our current and future generations of our innovative Workstation hardware and solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for and experience in electrical and embedded power systems along with strong and proven technical leadership and validation skills. Critical to the success of this position is building strong relationships with worldwide colleagues and key partners in Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, and suppliers. This position is based in Fort Collins, CO but our teams are split between the US and Taipei, TWN.
If you are our Workstation Electrical Hardware Engineer in Fort Collins, you will have a chance to:
Designs engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements
Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution
Leads a project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately-complex products.
Represents the electrical hardware team for all phases of larger and more- complex development projects.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality
Engagement with R&D technologists
Work cross-functionally with key partners to deliver product definition meeting feature, quality and user experience goals
Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing criteria for achieving objectives Qualifications

7+ years of professional engineering experience

Previous experience in HW test and qualification for new products.
Experience using signal integrity and protocol analysis equipment to troubleshoot and validate electrical circuits and interfaces.Experience in high-tech electronics manufacturing.
Experience performing high-speed signal measurements.
Experience designing, developing, and testing embedded power or computer power supplies.
Familiarity with analog feedback control circuits.
Familiarity with power components including MOSFETs, BJTs, Inductors, Capacitors, and transformers.
Familiarity with electromagnetic compatibility issues conducted and radiated electromagnetic regulatory requirements and methods to meet those requirements.
Experience in performing power-related signal measurements.
