This position is for an electrical hardware engineer with proven design knowledge to solve complex technical issues. This position is in the Workstation Business Unit and the selected candidate will be part of an R&D HW team responsible for designing and providing technical leadership for Workstation platforms and components.
This role will support electrical motherboard and component design for our current and future generations of our innovative Workstation hardware and solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for and experience in electrical design with strong and proven technical leadership and validation skills. Critical to the success of this position is building strong relationships with worldwide colleagues and key partners in Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, and suppliers. This position is based in Fort Collins, CO but our teams are split between the US and Taipei, TWN.
If you are our Workstation Electrical Hardware Component Engineer in Fort Collins, you will have a chance to:
Designs engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
Participate in an engineering team to investigate, define, develop, debug, and deliver workstation designs, components and systems. Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards. Provide tangible feedback to improve product quality.
Strong component ownership contributing to overall system design, quality, and performance. Participation of component and system reviews
Leading component qualification, trouble-shoot and debug efforts on new, under-development workstation designs and on existing, shipping designs experiencing customer or field issues.
Participate in the investigation of new technologies. Identify and integrate innovation and new technologies into projects and activities.
Work closely with component suppliers and development partners worldwide to deliver the latest performance, security, and feature technologies to our customers.
Manage and expand relationships with internal and external development partners to maximize HP workstation hardware design and development success.
Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and be a subject matter expert. Contribute to the development of new ideas and methods. Work on complex problems and projects providing data-analysis, trade-offs, and justified recommendations.
Exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Lead and provide expertise to functional project teams and participate in cross-functional initiatives.
Provide mentoring and guidance to less-experienced staff members. Represent the organization to external customers and clients as required.

5-7+ years of professional engineering experience
