Job Description Summary
This is a recruitment for a short-term/temporary position. This recruitment will be open until the position is filled. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Under supervision of Associate Director of Instruction over Community Programs, develop and provide workshops on topics related to STEM subjects, focusing on renewable energy.
The STEM Camp is a 4-day camp for high school students is planned for Monday-Thursday, June 10-13, 2024 on the South County.
We are looking for one or more High School teachers in a STEM field to assist with development and delivery of the sessions.
Essential Functions & Qualifications
Assist Cuesta Faculty Lead in the planning ofa4-day camp for high school students on STEM subjects, with a focus on renewable energy
Assist Cuesta Faculty Lead to develop curriculum for workshops that cover topics related to STEM subjects, focusing on renewable energy, and relevant career pathways
Assist with the promotion of the camp
Present workshops topics related to STEM subjects, focusing on renewable energy, and relevant career pathways
Participate in a train-the-trainer orientation for NextEra curriculum on renewable energy
Assist with the implementation of the camp
Oversee classroom management and monitoring of participants
SLO County high school teacher with a minimum of two years teaching experience in STEM
Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and of staff and students with physical and learning disabilities.
Assignment Details
Immediate need for Spring 2024:
Up to 50 hours planning, curriculum development and preparation
Monday-Thursday, June 10-13, 2024 (min. 6 hours per day) South County (minimum 24 hours total)
