The candidate will be responsible for monitoring worksites and/or entering timesheet information from the various worksites the for participants of the WorkSource DeKalb, DeKalb Works Summer Employment Initiative. The candidate must meet requirements as set forth by WorkSource DeKalb. Positions will begin in May and end in August.


  • Working with WorkSource DeKalb (WSD) staff members to plan and coordinate summer youth employment activities.

  • Leading and supporting summer youth as they participate in work experience activities.

  • Monitoring youth at worksites to ensure compliance with WSD rules.

  • Reporting and recording details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to WSD staff.

  • Ensuring all emergency procedures and rules are enforce according to WSD policy.

  • Participating in staff meetings and trainings.

  • Collecting timesheets and verifying the accuracy of the timesheets from youth worksites.

  • Informing Worksite Supervisors of procedures for completing timesheets weekly.

  • Completing and submitting weekly worksite reports, timely.

  • Data entry of financial information into recordkeeping spreadsheet and/or system.

Minimum requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.

  • Must pass background check.

  • Experience working youth summer employment programs a plus

  • First aid, CPR, and additional training may be required or beneficial.

  • High level of responsibility and accountability.

  • Upbeat, engaging personality with youth.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office/Data Entry Software)

VIEW JOBS 4/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-11T00:00 Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this classification is to perform skilled maintenance, fabrication, overhaul and repair of mechanical equipment located within water or wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and lift stations. Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Leads and coordinates daily work activities of assigned crew or co-workers; confers with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities; organizes tasks to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; confers with co-workers, assists with complex/problem situations, and provides technical expertise; assists with training and instructing co-workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of equipment; and assists with supervision of co-workers by reporting employee problems, and providing input on disciplinary action and employee performance evaluations. Reviews system designs, specifications, and products, attends pre-construction meetings, and recommends changes in water/wastewater facilities mechanical systems; troubleshoots problems and recommends corrective actions based on skilled knowledge of mechanical repair practices; and performs preventative maintenance and corrective repair work on water/wastewater facilities and equipment. Fabricates and machines repair parts for equipment; welds steel, brass and aluminum; operates lathes, mill/drill presses, welders and various other metal working power and hand tools; and locates leaks and detects defects in water/wastewater equipment and machinery according to established plans and standards. Monitors, reviews and validates work practices for quality control of processes and to ensure adherence to safety standards; and monitors and trains crew members on safety methods and standards. Inputs and gathers data from Supervisory Control Data Acquisition system (SCADA) and runs reports as necessary. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a training program or apprenticeship in the mechanical or electrical trades; four years of experience in the repair of water and wastewater treatment plant machinery, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license; must obtain a State of Georgia CDL Class B License within six months of employment.
