Workforce Health & Safety

  • Occupational Health Consultant (1.0 FTE, Days) The person hired into this position will be required to work at Roosevelt Commons and the hospital clinic. Provide occupational health and safety expertise to Workforce Health and Safety Department.

    Responsible for providing expertise in identifying gaps in compliance, risk assessments, and recommending solutions for occupational, and environmental health and workforce safety issues. Acts as a consultant to customers and colleagues. Contributes and participates in the Center for Quality and Patient Safety Initiatives to advance clinical quality improvement and workforce safety. Required Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in Health Sciences field (including but not limited to Nursing, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Health and Environmental Safety)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of health and safety experience.

  • Experience in departmental or organizational quality improvement and/or workforce safety improvement activities.

  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA, DOH, NIOSH, and other regulatory agencies governing health care requirements. Preferred

  • Washington State RN, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or Certified Safety Professional.

  • Certified Professional in Occupational Health Nursing, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.

  • Experience in injury prevention and/or hazard control, infection control and vaccine preventable diseases, and workers’ compensation.

  • Experience working in a large, complex organization.

  • Experience in program and policy development and managing change.

  • Familiar with continuous process improvement, Institute for Healthcare Improvement and/or Six Sigma. Compensation Range $115,277.00 - $172,915.00 per year Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
