The Workforce Development Department is recruiting for Workforce Development Supervisor I who coordinate and supervise the delivery of employment and training services offered under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of subordinate staff; setting program priorities and improving program effectiveness; interpreting rules, regulations and policies; and analyzing enrollment data.

The current vacancy exists in Victorville. The resulting list may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Other offices are located in Rancho Cucamonga, and San Bernardino. Positions of Workforce Development Supervisor may be rotated among the office locations to meet departmental needs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Background:Applicant must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment. Travel:Travel throughout the County may be required; a valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment and to be maintained. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in administration, education, human services or a closely related field.

Completion of the County of San Bernardino Management Leadership Academy (MLA) program will be accepted toward the required coursework on the basis of 4 quarter units of credit per MLA track completed. MLA coursework must be indicated on the Education/Coursework question on the Supplemental Questionnaire.

NOTE: A list of completed coursework must be submitted with the application if the applicant does not possess a degree in one of the qualifying fields of study.

Experience:Two (2) years (within the last 5 years) of full-time experienceinemployment search, facilitation and case management activities in one of the following client-based programs: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Workforce Investment Act (WIA)or equivalent, CalWORKSEmployment Services, Regional Occupational Program (ROP), Job Corps, Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), Wagner-Peyser Act, Department of Labor Welfare to Work Program, or related federally funded workforce program, performing duties equivalent to a San Bernardino County Workforce Development Specialist;

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Workforce Investment/Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIA/WIOA), interacting with job seekers, businesses, and schools to complement a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. This candidate will possess excellent communication, as well as demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills. Lead/supervisory experience are also desired.

Purpose of Job: * Partner with the MGM in growing and retaining existing dealers * Be the eyes and ears and communicating between dealers and the MGM, any issues that need to be resolved * Working with Territory Sales Manager to quickly and correctly set up new dealers and train them on the Interstate system (warranty, testers, pricing knowledge, etc.) * Provide quick and competent service to resolve customer complaints * Working with Interstate Batteries' Support Center in Dallas, to help continuously refine the process and role definition. Job Components: * Building strategic relationships with dealers within the local sales territory. * Creating and executing sales growth strategies for new and existing dealers within assigned territory by managing the dealer experience. * Meet or exceed established KPI's and goals including new sales production * Partner with the TSM to conduct the set-up and onboarding of new dealers. * Respond to dealer issues and complaints. * As needed, assist TSMs in closing high potential prospective customers. * Regularly attending and participating in relevant sales meetings. * Conducting top-to-top, monthly distributor reviews to ensure that sales growth strategies are on target to meet goals. * Providing reports and related sales information on day-to-day basis as required by the Company. Qualifications: * Business to business sales experience is preferred.
