The purpose of this position is to provide non-supervisory lead work to:
Coordinate and plan the delivery of Basic Career Services to job seekers across multiple programs operated by Job Service including Wagner-Peyser, WIOA Youth, Adult, and Dislocated Worker programs, State Dislocated Worker, MFIP;
Plan and provide labor exchange services to employers;
Represent the Wagner-Peyser program on the local Workforce Development Board (WDB) and subcommittees;
Represent the WorkForce Center on regional collaborative efforts such as WDB regional planning, tri-state planning, regional job fairs, etc.;
Schedule Job Service employees to provide services to job seekers, facilitate workshops, and provide orientations to UI applicants;
Act at the lead instructor for job search workshops;
Advise management and recommend improvements for WorkForce Center operations
1.Act as Lead Worker by scheduling staff to provide Basic Career Services to job seekers, cover the reception desk, conduct orientations at UI-RESEA groups; and coordinating staff training, certification and coverage for Resource Area and/or Reception desk functions of the WFC.
2.Act as the lead coordinator, trainer, coach and mentor for instructors of Creative Job Search and other workshops such as Resume Writing, Interviewing, Social Media, and more.
3.Provide Basic Career Services (as defined in WIOA) to job seekers by developing and facilitating workshops and meeting with job seekers 1:1 in person or virtually. Tailor and customize workshops and services to meet the needs of the local area and customer.
4.Conduct other group sessions such as WorkForce Center orientations, intake sessions for special programs, testing sessions for the National Career Readiness Certificate, or for other information sharing or intake purposes.
5.Represent the Winona WorkForce Center on regional collaborative programs such as tri-state workforce planning, Pathways to Prosperity grants, regional job fairs, regional Workforce Development Board (WDB) programs, and more.
6.Represent the Wagner-Peyser program on the Local Workforce Development Board.
7.Lead business outreach, support, and consultation locally and regionally.
Two (2) years professional work experience in career placement, career coaching, workforce development or employment and training programs.
A solid understanding of Minnesota's workforce center system and programs, including work with public workforce development agencies and related non-profit organizations.
A demonstrated record of customer service is required, which includes the ability to relate to persons on all levels with patience, tact and understanding.
Experience working as a team lead.
Knowledge and experience working with diverse population and high disparities in the community
A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience in facilitating career workshops is a plus
