Position Summary

This position will assist in promoting Workforce Development to the public, conduct training sessions, prepare reports, and assist staff in all aspects of the daily operation of the Office of Workforce Development. The position also accepts responsibility for increasing registrations that lead to a positive contribution to the financial goals of the Office of Workforce Development. This position will also serve as the central point of contact for the execution of the college's Continuing Education certification programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, planning, and execution of programs that expand the Workforce Development division.

  • Identify and recruit instructors for workforce programs and make recommendations to the Executive Director.

  • Work a flexible schedule that may involve travel with some evening and weekend work as required.

  • Schedule, register students, and coordinate aspects of workforce development courses and programs.

  • Work collaboratively with faculty to schedule use of labs, classrooms, and equipment.

  • Evaluate curricula, class materials and instruction to ensure quality control and student satisfaction.

  • Attend the first day/night of each assigned Career Program/Continuing Education class and regularly monitor class progress by making unannounced visits to the classes.

  • Assist with preparing various reports as directed.

  • Schedule certification testing when applicable, communicate with students about testing options, monitor and report certification results to the Executive Director.

  • Submit updates to college webmaster for Workforce Development/Continuing Education classes.

  • Submit advertising requests to college PR director for Workforce Development/ Continuing Education classes.

  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
  • A minimum of two (2) years of full-time related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year full-time employment in business and industry

  • Previous work experience in post-secondary education

3.Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
