JOB DUTIES:

As a WorkForce Consultant, you will:

  • Provide outcome-based, client specific services to diverse populations and cultures, with skill levels ranging from seasoned professionals to those new to the workforce to include veterans, persons with disabilities, justice involved, those with little formal education, homeless, and the senior population.

  • Deliver specialized employment services and access to supportive programs for those experiencing severe barriers to employment.

  • Administer comprehensive assessments, employment and training services for job seekers.

  • Provide customized business services for employers to address their needs in the area of worker recruitment & retention, employment law, economic trends and workforce solutions including human resource management practices.

  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, education, economic development and other community partners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities:

  • Basic concepts of workforce development.

  • Knowledge of local social service agencies and community resources.

  • Labor and employment laws, rules and procedures.

  • HR best practices and interviewing methods.

  • Labor market information and application, including local, regional, statewide, national and global trends impacting workforce needs.

  • Effective working relationships with clients, business partners and co-workers.

  • Provide positive, outstanding customer service.

  • Presentation and training techniques.

  • Coaching individuals toward their goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field such as personnel or business administration, counseling, education or related field.

  • One year of directly related experience assessing and advising others in a variety of personal and professional issues such as employment, personnel, counseling, finance, or education, human services or social work or related area.

OR

  • Five years of directly related relevant experience.

OR

  • Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
