Benefits Administration in the Shared Services Center at West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Workforce Administration Associate. This position will provide paraprofessional support to the employee benefits workforce administration team and will focus primarily on responding to benefits questions and inquiries from employee's, using Salesforce case management system. This position will also key benefit information into the PEIA Benefits Administration System (BAS). This position is accountable for timely and effective responses to employees and to escalate issues as appropriate.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Answers Tier-1 benefits questions. Assists employees, retirees, and surviving dependents on all aspects of health, basic life, optional life, AIG insurance, disability coverage and all insurances through PEIA and Mountaineer Flexible Benefits (FBMC). This position uses Salesforce case management system to respond to employee basic employee benefits questions and issues.
Inputs and codes change-in-status forms into the PEIA BAS system.
Participants in the annual open benefits enrollment and other benefit enrollment, and benefits events as needed.
Completes Qualtrics form to arrange for employee benefit deductions to be keyed by Employee Data Management.
Processes name and address changes in PEIA, FMBC and other benefit vendors. Keys changes directly into PEIA BAS.
Ensures enrollment with flexible spending account vendor.
Maintain electronic enrollment files.
Process Child Support and HIPP Verifications.
Reporting and notification for decreasing life coverage for employees over age 65.
Uses appropriate judgement to escalate complex employee benefits issues to the Workforce Administration Specialist.
Uses appropriate judgement to escalate complex issues and works collaboratively with other members of the shared services center team.
Participates in process improvement initiatives.
Associates degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial Relations. Public Administration, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
At least 2 years Work experience in a human resources department. Prior work in Employee Benefits is preferred.
Attention to detail and accuracy with keying information.
Ability to research issues and prepare options for resolution.
Ability to learn PEIA BAS system.
Demonstrated experience navigating multiple computer screens, including entry of required information.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated success with ability to build and maintain effective work relationships.
High degree of integrity and reliability.
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft office products, such as Excel, Word, Access.
Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional level of customer service, to all levels of the organization.
