Workers Compensation Attorney

A client of Insight Global is hiring a workers’ compensation attorney on the defense side is to assist insurance companies or self-insured employers in mitigating their exposure and defending workers’ compensation claims. Typical job functions include:

Delegate tasks to paralegals. Attend and schedule depositions. Prepare and submit reports required by company management.

Maintain communication with insurance adjusters. Assist in investigating accidents and identifying problem areas. Monitor loss run reports for trends and increases, and notify management of any concerns.

Manage workers’ compensation costs to reduce liability. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Coordinate and participate in claims reviews.

Negotiate settlements on behalf of the insurance company. Litigate cases before a workers’ compensation judge or referee. Qualifications : Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research platforms such as Lexis and Westlaw.

Demonstrated litigation and trial experience. Knowledge of billing procedures. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Familiarity with claims handling guidelines for various business units. Excellent research and analytical abilities Nice to Have Understanding of medical, scientific, construction, product, engineering, and related issues in workers’ compensation cases. Up-to-date knowledge of workers’ compensation laws. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
