Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Worker's Comp Impairment Rating Specialist like you who provides administrative expertise in worker's comp processes. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. The role is based at the home office in Coppell, TX. This is not a remote position.

You will:

  • Call and email patients to schedule and/or confirm appointments with IR Physician

  • Helps maintain the IR schedules for the IR Physicians

  • Communicate with adjusters and employers when patient cannot be reached to schedule an IR or if patient has missed their IR appointment

  • Gather complete medical records for each patient scheduled for an IR. This includes accessing web charts, contacting the clinics for missing charts, contacting specialist offices, faxing releases to hospitals, contacting adjusters/nurse case managers

  • Assist with faxing and mailing completed IR reports to Texas Department of Insurance and worker's compensation insurance carriers as well as the patient and adjustor if requested

  • Gathers notes from outside facilities and adjuster for IR Physician

  • Review PDF files to anticipate missing records and proactively request missing records from outside entities

  • Identify mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation in order to correct the information and reduce errors

  • Assist with summarizing medical records for upcoming Impairment Rating appointments

You Should Have:

  • Experience as an Medical Assistant is preferred

  • 2-3 years experience with medical records

  • 2-3 years of Worker's Compensation experience is preferred In-depth knowledge of medical terminology

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook and Internet

  • High School Graduate / GED or higher is required
