This position will have remote and hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor and based on business need.

This is a grant funded position expected to expire on June 30, 2026. The individual hired for this position will be required to sign a waiver of retention rights.

Description of Job

The salary for this position is (This salary range is based on the July 1 compensation plan for new hires):

$27.74 - $30.69 Hourly

$2,219.54 - $2,454.92 Biweekly

$4,809.00 - $5,319.00 Monthly

$57,708.00 - $63,828.00 Annually

This Workforce Development Programs (WDP) workgroup exists to plan, develop, organize, oversee, monitor and set policy for job seekers, employers and other customers across the state of Colorado according to Federal and State guidelines. This unit also acts as department liaison with various state groups who provide employment and training services and local service delivery entities including the state operated workforce centers and county operated offices. Within WDP, the Worker Programs Unit (WPU) exists to set policy, manage funding, provide technical assistance to both Local Workforce Areas and employers and assist them with providing and accessing workforce programs and services that are available through the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE). The work unit has total functional responsibility over statewide operations, procedures, and activities as they relate to the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act (TAA), Trade Readjustment Act (TRA) program, the Pathways Home grant, the Displaced Homemaker grant, the Partners for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD collaborative agreement),the Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy and Training (QUEST) Disaster Recovery Dislocated Worker Grant and the other state and federal workforce initiatives administered within the WPU.

This position exists to to perform coordination and administration of tasks within the operations of the PROWD, QUEST, Pathway Home, and the Displaced Homemaker grants in Colorado. Will coordinate with various internal and external partners while performing various process related tasks in the administration of the Pathway Home grant, PROWD, QUEST, and Displaced Homemaker grant. This position provides grant support across program lines and is an integral part of WPU operations. This position has the ability to take on grant-related tasks and complete them independently with minimal direction from the Unit Manager and Grant Coordinator. This position also serves in a backup role to the Grant Coordinators that assists with program continuity through staff turnover and also exists to provide a career progression model that prepares staff to take on Grant Coordinator responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only:

Six (6) years of relevant experience to include a combination of the following: project management, program training, event planning, coordination/facilitation of meetings, attention to detail, verbal and written communications skills, knowledge of software platforms such as Google and Microsoft, the ability to operate in a virtual environment using ZOOM, Google Meets, or Microsoft Teams, the ability to work independently and in a team environment

OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to six (6) years which includes a combination of the following: project management, program training, event planning, coordination/facilitation of meetings, attention to detail, verbal and written communications skills, knowledge of software platforms such as Google and Microsoft, the ability to operate in a virtual environment using ZOOM, Google Meets, or Microsoft Teams, the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with federal and state grants including reporting and data management

  • Experience working with individuals receiving unemployment insurance benefits and or low-income assistance such as TANF

  • Experience with programs that serve individuals returning to the community after incarceration

  • Experience with interpretation of state and federal rules and regulations

  • Experience with annual compliance monitoring

  • Performing duties similar to those assigned to the position as a classified State of Colorado employee.

Conditions of Employment:
