Reporting to Executive Director of Human Resources and working closely with the HCM Executive Project Team, the Workday HCM Core Implementation Lead will be a key and crucial member of the HCM implementation team as our institution transitions from the Oracle EBS platform to a new cloud based HCM system

  • Workday. This is a temporary, full-time assignment, approximately four (4) months with an immediate start and an estimated end date of August 2024.

The Workday HCM Core Implementation Lead will serve as the internal HRIS project manager, liaising with HR, Payroll, IT, Senior Project Manager, other internal stakeholders, and the vendor's and implementation partner's teams. They will serve as the subject matter expert in Core HCM modules such as people data, compensation, reporting, components of time and attendance and should have extensive experience in the functional aspect of HR/HRIS data administration and integrity, as well as exposure to project management/system and process analysis and configuration.

As part of this temporary role, the incumbent will support the architect and design phase of the project which will entail design and configuration of business processes, reports, integration and conversion builds, unit testing, and customer confirmation sessions. Architect and Design phase begins May 2024 and runs through until November 2024; prior to the end of the temporary assignment around August 2024, this person will do a project and knowledge transfer to other project members. This position will interact with senior leadership and provide information, status updates, and strategic advice when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR, internal stakeholders, and implementation partners to document strategic vision as it relates to employee data, compensation, position/assignments, hierarchical organization structuring, job categories, reporting, and general people administration and translate it into implications / critical success factors for the implementation.

  • Elicit, analyze, and translate HRIS processes, systems and business needs into functional and technical requirements.

  • Analyze current business processes and data flows and provide best practices and solutions to complex business problems.

  • Develop and execute test plans, logic, process workflows to ensure reporting is operating to specifications and offer adaptability for possible future initiatives and expectations.

  • Maintain required high standards in accountability for data integrity - quality, accuracy and usability of core systems and related interfaces across all HR technologies.

  • Analyze, design, and build new custom reports, ensure custom reports function as designed based on business requirements.

  • Working with the vendor, the internal implementation team, and stakeholders to develop custom reports, dashboards, and analytics to support HRIS, leadership, finance, and institutional priorities.

  • Work closely with IT on data security and privacy and integrations.

  • Collaborate with the HR Team to ensure the execution of all integrations while reviewing and monitoring on an ongoing basis.

  • Creates documentation for business processes and updates as required.

  • Create HCM user reference guide for HRIS team.

  • Create training documents/guides end-user.

  • Maintain historical documentation and rationales for configuration, processes and workflow changes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or master's degree preferred

  • 3-5 years of Workday HCM Core implementation experience required.

  • Workday Training and Certifications highly preferred.

  • Proven project management skills including experience with project management tools.

  • Prior HR experience in an HRIS/HR Reporting role.

  • Prior experience with higher education and/or unionized workforce highly preferred.

  • Professional experience that relies heavily on data administration, analysis, and auditing

  • Previous implementation experience with total rewards, HRIS, compensation, reporting, time and attendance, onboarding, performance management preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized

  • Deep understanding of MS 365 applications (with advanced Excel (macros, vlookups, pivot tables), data administration, analysis and reporting skills)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong understanding of information systems architectures and technology platforms.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working under tight timelines.

  • Self-starter with a passion for process excellence and problem solving.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment leveraging Agile and/or Waterfall project management approaches/methodologies.

  • Excel in balancing and managing shifting priorities.

  • Tech savvy and excels in working across different HR technologies.

Work Mode: Hybrid Remote; on-site work at Old Westbury, NY campus will be required during project implementation.

Assignment Length: Anticipated up to 4 months, temporary full-time, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (35 hours a week)

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

USD $65.00/Hr.

Maximum Salary

USD $80.00/Hr.
