Workamper

This position is responsible for the cleaning of all areas of the Hersheypark Camping Resort, primarily focusing on cabins, bathhouses and public spaces. Additionally, responsibilities may include picking up trash and cleaning fire pits. Workampers receive an hourly wage plus a Full Hook Up Site w/ 50 AMP electrical service, water, sewer, cable & Wi-Fi and other company perks.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Detailed cleaning of cabins, bathhouses and public spaces

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment ,and chemicals and golf cart

• Picking up trash around cabins ,and sites and resort

• Cleaning fire pits

• Provide guest site escort as needed by front desk team

• Light laundry and dishwashing

• Restocking of housekeeping supplies

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age on the date of applying

• Must have a valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments

• Proven guest relations, problem-solving, task management skills, and organizational skills

• Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times

• Must have strong conflict-resolution/problem-solving skills

• Must be friendly, upbeat, work well with other employees, and be able to interact with guests in a fast-paced environment

• Must have the ability to comprehend instructions (verbal, demonstrated, and/or written) and retain information

• General knowledge of housekeeping and cleaning

• Must be willing to clean bathhouses, cabins, and public spaces

• Must display a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies

Job Demands:

• Physical requirements would include ability to stand (for up to five hours at a time), walk, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, climb ladders, and lifting up to sixty (60) pounds without assistance

• Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Work is almost exclusively outdoors.

• Employee must provide proper footwear (closed toe and heel)

• Must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential exposure to bodily fluids and other spills.

• Must be able to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, with shifts starting as early as 7:30 AM and ending as late as 4:00 PM, May through September, according to the Workamper contract.
