Job Summary

THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY!

The Electronic Resource Services office is seeking a Student Assistant to work

within the department. The student will assist with the electronic aspects for the library under the supervision of the department head and along with staff members. Job training will be provided to the selected candidate.

Responsibilities Summary:

1.Run a broken link report in Springshare LibGuides and make corrections

2.Check for broken database and ejournal links and make corrections

3.Check the catalog for duplications in e-book orders

4.Perform data entry for the Institutional Repository project

Required Qualifications

1.Must be a current Clayton State University student

2.Must be eligible and verified for Federal Work Study

3.Must be in good academic standing

4.Must be in good conduct standing

5.Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

3.Demonstrates a commitment to customer service

4.Ability to work independently and collaboratively

5.Ability and flexibility to handle multiple simultaneous projects, accommodate shifting priorities and meet deadlines

6.Ability to relate well with students, faculty, staff, and community users

7.Ability to learn and understand the Library of Congress Classification System and the Dewey Decimal System

8.Ability to push and lift books up to 15 pounds

9.Ability to communicate verbally with and provide service to library users (in person, online, or on the telephone) in a courteous, efficient manner



  1. Ability to use a step stool or ladder to reach books on the top shelf

  2. Ability to learn to use an Integrated Library System

  3. Ability to work unsupervised.
