Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Work Assistant for the Radiation Oncology Administrative Data team within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

The primary purpose of the Work Assistant is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Radiation Oncology Administrative Data team, under the direction and guidance of the Program Administrator. The Work Assistant will assist in managing the database and supporting audits.

Among the key duties for this position are the following:

  • Assists the department in managing the data inflow and outflow to set up the database for the upcoming year.

  • Serves as the first point of contact for Federal Work Study students' questions.

  • Supports and assists with audits and catalogues department processes and procedures (internally maintained reference library).

  • Migrates the department mailing lists from Mailman to Microsoft mail lists.

  • Facilitate audits of projects and data in the projects that the Project Manager created/manages for the department.

Position Status Part Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or recently graduated from a bachelor's degree program.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective oral and communication skills.

  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. Moderate noise.
