With its broad and multidisciplinary faculty expertise, the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) is an international resource that supports basic and clinical research in environmental health sciences and exposure assessment and fosters associated programs in environmental health education and public policy.
Established in 1986, EOHSI's major objectives are to:
Advance understanding of the mechanisms by which environmental and occupational chemical exposures impact human health.
Identify and measure human environmental and occupational exposures to chemicals. Treat populations adversely affected by chemical exposures. Develop educational tools describing relative risks of chemical exposures. Contribute to public policies related to environmental and occupational chemical risks. Offer training programs for environmental health professionals.
The Institute serves as an unbiased source of expertise about environmental problems for communities, employers and governments in all areas of occupational and environmental health, toxicology and risk assessment. EOHSI members are active as advisors to international, national, state and local organizations on public health issues.

Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Work Assistant for the Clinical Research and Occupational Medicine department within Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI). The Work Assistant will support administrative operations for the federally funded World Trade Center Health Program at Rutgers; assist program staff with member services, data entry, records management, medical claims processing; and other administrative functions.
Job duties will include:
Assist administrative team in coordinating patient care for World Trade Center Health Program members. Work with patients and providers to identify member needs and conduct referrals and authorizations in accordance with programmatic guidelines.
Support program retention and patient education efforts. Screen patient calls and proactively contacts patients to update information. Assist in the development and dissemination of the clinic WTCHP newsletter.
Aid in processing records releases and clinical records management
Assist with billing for the World Trade Center Health Program. Review medical claims for program compliance, accuracy, and completeness.
Conduct needed data entry for the department. Aid in audit initiatives, under supervision.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a healthcare field.
Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
Must be proficient in computer applications as required by the department.
