Position Classification: Full-Time Regular

Sign on bonus of $250.00 will be paid after 60 days of employment.

About This Opportunity

As a Woodworker Fabricator at Rockford Construction, you will work in a team environment in our mill shop to cut, fabricate and install wooden, solid surface and other structures according to specifications. A fabricator and installer should have great hand dexterity and an eye for detail.

The ideal candidate will also have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. In this role, you may occasionally drive a 24 foot long box truck to make local deliveries. You will work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting custom-built products for our clients.This position reports directly to the Millshop Manager.

VIEW JOBS 1/11/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-04-11T00:00 <p><strong>Carpenter Foreman</strong></p> <p>Home Office Location: 601 First Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. </p><p>Jobsite Location: Varies based on the project assignment</p> <p>Position Classification: Full-Time Regular</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About This Opportunity </strong></p><p>As a high-level Carpenter Foreman of Commercial Construction at Rockford, you will self-perform a variety of work as it relates to structural, rough, and finish carpentry and lead a team. You will be responsible for reporting and communicating project status and project issues to Trades management. You will also have the ability to train and mentor team members. </p><p><br></p><p>If you would like to join a highly collaborative and innovative company with career progression, apply online today!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><ul> <li>Rough carpentry including framing walls, bulkheads, blocking, stringer layout, involving wood and metal construction. </li> <li>Finish carpentry including wood base, jambs, casing, hinge pockets, wood door installations, window installations, sidelights. </li> <li>Assign team members on specific tasks to ensure the efficient completion of the project. </li> <li>Base and wall cabinet prefabricated and custom countertop installations. </li> <li>Door hardware installations including handsets, door closers, kick plates, panic bars, and sweeps.</li> <li>Assist other carpenters with required tasks as needed; foster a teamwork environment. </li> <li>Read blueprints and insure work meets current building code requirements. </li> <li>Receive and organize material deliveries. </li> <li>Actively manage and maintain safety on the job site. </li> <li>Review and interpret contract documents. </li> <li>Maintain the cleanliness of the jobsite, such as removing trash, organize materials, sweep, etc. </li> <li>The ability to to fulfill the role of Trades Carpenter when not acting in the role of Trades Foreman. </li> <li>Other duties as assigned. </li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Education Requirements:</p> <ul><li>A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. </li></ul><p><br></p><p>Competency Requirements:</p><ul> <li>A minimum of 8 years of carpentry experience and people management skills to successfully lead a team.</li> <li>Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects at a time. </li> <li>Ability to follow instructions and work with others to complete tasks. </li> <li>Familiarity with MIOSHA and OSHA requirements related to assigned tasks.</li> <li>Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less. </li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>Bonus Skills and Experience: </p> <ul><li>First Aid and CPR Certification (safety training will be provided upon hire).</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Rockford offers competitive compensation, 401(k) with company match, comprehensive healthcare plans, generous paid time off including, continued learning and training opportunities, on-site health and wellness activities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work schedules, and access to industry-leading technology.
