Main duties and responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Wood Yard Operator's position is to perform all assigned tasks, including but not limited to, the safe, efficient operations of the Wood Yard and associated equipment. Additionally, the operator will be required to perform routine maintenance and cleaning on all machinery and workspaces in the assigned area of responsibility. The operator will be required to understand and manipulate computer software related to the operation of the Wood Yard and associated equipment. The operator will also be required to identify conditions which may lead to substandard quality or up-time and initiate the proper corrective action. Further duties may include assisting maintenance personnel, when requested, in the troubleshooting, repair, or preventive maintenance of equipment in order to support continuous operations on the production line.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow all JHSAs, technical specifications, and work instructions for the assigned process task.

• Must comply with all Kronospan policies and procedures.

• The ability to work effectively with other members of the facility team.

• The ability to work without constant supervision.

• The ability to creatively problem-solve, individually or as part of a group.

• The ability to work in extreme heat and cold

• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a safe but rapid pace
